What information you need to start:
Before you get started, make sure that you have the following information:
- Email username (this is your full email address)
- Your password
- The server settings for your email – click here – for details
Adding a new email account to your Android device:
- Select theemail application on your phone or tablet
- If it does not prompt you to set up a new account automatically, select Menu, and then Add Account
- Enter your full email address. Ex. SunnyDay@lightspeed.ca
- Enter your email password
- Select Manual Setup
- Select your choice of either POP or IMAP
- Your username is your full email address. Ex. SunnyDay@lightspeed.ca
- Your password is your supplied email password
- Enter your incoming mail server information
- Enter your incoming server port.
- Now Click Next
- Enter your outgoing mail server information
- Enter your outgoing server port. If required by the server settings for your email address, this is where you will select SSL.t
- Check off Require sign-in
- Enter you username which is your full email address. Ex. SunnyDay@lightspeed.ca
- Your password is your email password
- Select Next to finalize
- We suggest you send yourself a test email to make sure your settings are working correctly. That might take a few moments based on the server loads.
Making changes to an existing email address:
- From yourEmail Screen, select Menu
- Now select Settings
- Then select Account Settings
- Choose the email account you wish to modify
- Click on More Settings
- Review the settings and then update your incoming and outgoing server details as required
- Save and exit
- We suggest you send yourself a test email to make sure your settings are working correctly. That might take a few moments based on the server loads.
